  • …but why I am kinda happy with establishmentarianism is: (HT @RelSoc)

    2012/02/16 10:30:55 GMT

(If you’re following the thread) What I wrote semi-whimsically back in 2006: Britain has never had much truck with separation of Church and State – chiefly due to the whole monarchy thing – and the Church of England does a marvellous job of acting as an air-brake on political religious posturing (“Why preach when there’s

I posted: So when a Christian taunts a scientist about knowing his liturgy, I find it as sad as I suspect a believer might find an atheist like me demanding evidence before faith. But what I also believe is that the fact that people can self-identify (ie: “profess belief”) and thereby obtain influence and seniority

So @Giles_Fraser's test of Dawkins' belief in evolution is if he can recite the name of a book, not whether he believes in evidence. This morning on the Today programme Giles Fraser clashed mildly with Richard Dawkins over the latter’s foundation’s press release, of an Ipsos MORI poll of census self-declared Christians, with findings that: One in six (15%) admits to having never read the Bible outside a church service, with a further one in three (36%) not having

Learning about Cybersecurity from an Unnatural World Radio 4 on Security: Bio, Cyber or otherwise… I was listening to the rerun of File On 4[1] this evening, and a chap from the FBI said something very sensible about Cybersecurity. Albeit the programme itself was nothing to do with cybersecurity and its tone was mildly hysterical

Yes, it is possible to hack a Mac through the new DisplayPort/Thunderbolt interface, exactly the same way it is possible to hack Macs and PCs through FireWire interfaces. How? Well, as Thunderbolt expands the PCIe bus,  buying a Firewire to Thunderbolt adapter will suffice. This is the same approach as many pentesters, myself included, have used
