It’s definitely thinner than it once was. But who is it for?
Yellow Pages? Why?

It’s purely for the benefit of company that prints it.
The Internet killed it, but it’s still twitching.
As long as some dumb businesses are prepared to pay to advertise in it it’ll continue to get dropped on my doorstep and straight into the recycling. -
So thin now it isn’t even any good as a small step. Still good for squashing big spiders for those people too scared to just put them out the window.

Because consumers still use it.
Marketing research firm Burke, Inc. conducted a year-long study of 8,000 adults which found that 74 percent used print Yellow Pages over the course of the year to find a local business—just slightly behind the 76 percent who used a search engine.

Market Authority, Inc., conducted a February 2012 study of 1,328 consumers in the San Francisco Bay Area and found that 69% still use (exclusively or at least occasionally) a printed Yellow Pages directory.

The studies found that consumers use two to three sources when researching local businesses.
We place call-tracking phone numbers in several of our customers’ YP ads. One insurance company advertiser of ours gets 83 calls a month from their YP ad. A pizza shop client is getting 94 calls a month. That’s just a small sampling of the tens of thousands of calls our directories deliever for our clients.
Hope that answers your question.
