Holocaust Foursquare – Tasteless Humour Alert

From IM:

Michael

When I was in Poland last month, Foursquare told me that “These places nearby are popular with foreign visitors”. Number one on the list was the “Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp”. This leads me to the somewhat frightening conclusion that visitors to Auschwitz feel the need to check in on Foursquare.

Alec

well, wouldn’t you want to be mayor?

Michael

No.

Alec

Wise man

Michael

It would turn into: “Visit two more concentration camps to earn a badge”

Alec

Mmm. The badge would be a pink triangle or yellow star?

Either you blog this or I will.

…so call it penance.

But, still, really? Really?

ps: if you don’t understand what irony means, please don’t bother complaining.

  1. Hilarious. My parents asked me what I was laughing at, so I explained Foursquare to them before reading them your conversation. They enjoyed as well.
