   Brilliant :-).

   I tend to read the full Honours Lists just in case someone I’ve met has landed a gong, and seeing Armando Iannucci bag an OBE really made me smile; his observations and sketches on Radio 4 have been tickling my funny bone for years, and the exchange above is another classic. I’m a bit disappointed the BBC hasn’t bothered to mention his OBE in today’s news, in fact.

   The award of an OBE to a talented and occasionally subversive satirist not only shows that the Establishment has a sense of humour, but also that it recognises many a true word being spoken in jest.

   While it depends on what he does next, I wonder if we’ll ever see the appointment of Sir Christopher Morris?
