#Missiles in East #London for the #Olympics? Cor! It’s the #Blitz all over again!

Ignoring the matter of what the missile’s target would land/crash onto, maybe they should install ack-ack too. And bend the beams. And misreport terrorist activity as happening too far to the northwest…

I assume this is just one outward-facing installation in a ring, and either public buildings have been found for the rest, or more notices will be issued shortly.

Also, I’d expect City airport to be closed for the duration, except for “Olympic family” flights; the City is going to be on lock-down and change freeze anyway, owing to the risk of staff not being able to get to site if anything new goes wrong.

Back in December when I was on a project in the Square Mile, I overheard several snippets of lunchtime conversation about how “this will be the biggest disruption the City has seen since the forties” – it’s amazing how long it’s taken for people to cotton on to this. I’ll certainly be staying well away.

    1. One of my employers’ has adopted the policy that during the Olympics nobody – except the one person based in London – need visit the offices in that area during the games.
