Go see [sunearth.gsfc.nasa.gov] – your next chance will be in 2012 (iirc) and after that you will have to wait for the next century – if you liive that long.

    for those of us in the southeast of england, the stats are approximately as follows: (all times in BST)

    sunrise 0445

    first contact 0619 – venus touches sun

    second contact 0639 – venus disk seen fully against sun

    mid-sun 0922

    third contact 1204 – venus begins to exit transit/eclipse

    fourth contact 1223 – end of transit

    Here in Melbourne we get it a bit more civilised, it’s a 3.15pm start, but the sun will set before it finishes.

    The next one (6th June 2012) will start for us just before dawn and continue through to 2:50pm.
