The British Way of Death, part II

A young woman recently died in a late night / early morning crash on the Fleet Road – deeply tragic and very sad; someone who’s 23 should have a whole lot of life in front of them. The crash site is still very evident; there are grooves in the verge and a dent in the hedge, and cards, and ribbons… and tonight there are candles burning in a makeshift shrine.

Overall, perhaps this is overall healthier than how we British used to be – now valuing the lives of individuals more highly.

It might elsewhere make harder other forms of progress, however.
