It might be going on in the UK, but I wouldn’t say it’s headline news, nor is it a resurrection of the swinging sixties in cyberspace; those of us who are old enough to remember the Tamagotchi cyberpet craze may also remember simultaneous memes from that era of Japanese matchmaking via short-range wireless devices.
