Can someone please cite me the name of a credible, big-name French rock-and-roll band?

Neither techno, rap, nor dance, in which genres the French have excellent representation, but just pure R&R and its progeny?

I am investigating the proposition (suggested by someone else) that it is impossible to “rock and roll” in french, and that to do it right really requires a language with a germanic influence – anglo-saxon, whatever.

Frankly, I am stuck for evidence against the proposition.
