Yay! Catcam! Plans to stream live? Not that I’m hard up for entertainment. 😉

>Plans to stream live?
Tempting, but seeing as I tend to walk around the kitchen in the morning sans-culottes, sans-much-at-all until I get a few espressos down me… well let’s say that that would not be nice for the rest of the world…

In front of the cats?! 😉

So long as I can open cans of catfood, they don’t care what I am wearing. 😛

Live hot pussy! (too easy a pun)
SO now you can see what Buster and Suzi do all day…

This time, I am laughing out loud at home, so I don’t have to explain that to anyone, not even my cats!
We were watching the baby falcons at work last year on the local “bird cam”, and their nest was above a catwalk When the birds started leaving the nest, the cameras were capturing them walking around on the catwalk. Birds walking on the catwalk. They ddn’t get that joke at work, but I knew they wouldn’t and was smart enough not to laugh out loud about that!
Your catcam is great! Thanks for a hearty laugh!

Ooh – shiny!
But Amazon says it costs almost £200. Did you find somewhere cheaper, or is it really that expensive? Given it’s a webcam, a wireless connection, two motors and a tiny computer I’m not sure why the cost is justified. Sure enough, Amazon also offers the “ICAM Pan/Tilt IP camera” for £55 which seems to have all the features except wireless – a feature which costs about £35 as a separate box.
I’m intending to move from a village into Cambridge some time soon; when I do, I think I’ll invest in a little surveillance.

Yes and yes. Fry’s in Palo Alto. $300 plus a change of power supply 🙂

Ditto.

The software stack is lovely, and I wanted something that would not require windows (Linksys are like this) – but if I can find more cameras for cheaper, I will install them, possibly poke the hardware a bit, too…
