French Healthcare Costs

So I received a bill for €593.09 from St Omer hostpital, for 1 day’s care and for scraping me off the road.

After scanning the document and forwarding it to Bart to confirm my translation, Bart contacted them on my behalf; as-per the handwritten note at the bottom of my bill, if I forward them the details of my European Health Insurance Card – that which permits me to get NHS cover in France – they will issue a new per-diem stipendary bill for €15.00.

I think that’s a bargain, really.

Even €593.09 seems like a bargain. I think for our last baby, there was a $1000 USD bed pan charge on the itemized report. I Hope you feel a little better every day. Your re-cracking of the your ribs post was painful to read…
