I blame DRM: the artificial market segmentation of DVDs being “region locked” led to much “free market” backlash from civil society; but now we have:

• Signal ignoring interoperability & threatening to exit the EU because of ChatControl
• Apple withdrawing ADP from the UK because of “TCN” backdoor demands
• Apple withdrawing Siri AI from the EU because of “interoperability” demands that backdoor *everything*

…yet somehow the latter is “bad” and the former two are “good”? Can we please have some consistency?
