I look at Twitter today, and think: having an Edit button would be a real hassle; not least the amount of retrospective changes that would happen to tweets after they go viral and are embedded into so many web-pages.
Immutability for the win.
And yes, you could work around this with “versioned tweets”, etc, but that will just confuse people more.
