my hotel bed is deeply weird – lumpy and high on one side, and low and squishy on the other. i worked out that the low and squishy side is the one from which the TV is most easily visible, implying that (a) most people in hotels watch TV from ther bed, and (b) the hotels do not rotate their matresses for even wear and tear.

the conference this morning included a sun-sigma led breakout discussion group; the debate was vigorous and interesting, although as a dedicated amateur statistician, i am concerned that our findings (written on post-it notes, stuck on a whiteboard, grouped into buckets and then voted for using adhesive dots) – have been slightly misconstrued through incorrect statistical analysis.
sort of a measure with a micrometer, mark with chalk, cut with an axe thing.
nonetheless the conclusions that we came up with weren’t too bad, involving stuff like:
WIBNI we had a system where field engineers could contact product designers and require them to respond to criticism of or issues regarding their products, and explain how such issues should be addressed
…but I am quietly confident that it won’t sound quite so forceful or clear by the time the suggestion wends its way up the food chain.
