Twitter Updates for 2011-09-16

  • @chris_bloke you mean @debian is no longer in a permanent state of roll-your-own ? #
  • @chris_bloke No I mean that last time i tried doing anything with @debian it was like building a car. With meccano. #
  • @shortblue Chap from the Berkshire BCS recently asked me what "OSX" was/meant. #
  • The train is at the platform. The driver's cab door is open. The engine is running. Nobody here nor in it. Wonder: Anyone want a free train? #
  • @shortblue The @ReadingSITP was fab – @Harrison_Peter demystifying dreams + how to drive them, without any form of Woo. #
  • Will someone please make an Android Twitter client that does not suck? Tried: Twitter(App/Web), Plume, Tweetdeck, Twidroyd… #
  • Android Twitter App = no refresh timer, manual refresh = dodgy, no "tweet size" counter, failed posts go in "Drafts" and barf on resend. #
  • TweetDeck gets fat / floods its cache and barfs, there's no "Jump to top" button (?) and no max limit on # of tweets per column. #
  • Plume is pretty (intrusive ads on free version) but has a weird mix of TweetDeck-like columns, and a "Remembered Searches" button / similar #
  • @quentynblog Have avoided Seesmic to date because of impression that it's an intermediary website / service. Untrue? #
  • @timcaynes Yeah – but if you've not read for 24+ hours then it a) pages in ~12h chunks and b) chokes when the cache is too big #
