The European Beer Migration

Ok, so, this is how the German explained beer migration to me:

  • The Norwegians go over the border to Sweden to get beer, because it’s cheaper….
  • The Swedes make daytrips to Denmark to stock-up likewise….
  • The Danes pop south into Germany for the same, and the dirty little secret in Germany is that…
  • a lot of the Germans have taken to visiting Poland just to get their beer cheaply.

History did not recount from where the Poles get their beer, and we supposed that the Russians stick to vodka, so turned to the waitress in our French hotel and ordered a Weissbier and a bottle of the house Red.

Rather good, actually.

You must taste our Stauder Pils beer (http http://www.stauder.de/) – there’s nothing better 😉 It’s a small local brewery here in Essen, Germany.
