Speeding Ticket? Tut, tut! Don’t tell mother!
Perhaps the first time a family member has been copped for speeding since Grandma was pulled over in the 1947 Rover, somewhere in Cornwall, I think. Went like this (I was there): Cop: Do you know what speed you were doing madam? Grandma: I haven’t the slightest idea. Cop: 40 miles per hour. Grandma: Good Lord. I didn’t think the old girl could do it. Cop: Would you like me to give you a certificate stating this in case you should decide to sell?
(He did let her off) . . .

That actually happened? It sounds like typical Muffett-Family-Lore but I am not in a fit state to determine reality from anything else…
