I sat next to Tony Blackburn on the train this morning…

…not that it is particularly apropos of anything, nor do I suppose that he is a celebrity whose name many of my American colleagues would recognise.

For translation purposes, he’s kinda the UK equivalent of Casey Kasem, but somewhat less old.

It was an interesting train-trip into London – physically knackered but mentally bouncy because I got back late last night from a 895 mile / 1440 km weekend jaunt to Edinburgh and back; I stayed at the Sheraton Grand Hotel – well worth the 155 quid, fresh fruit, loadsa towels, robes, fantastic pool – and rode a route home that was provided by a kind fellow on the UKGSer website

Re: the trip, I took some photos and on-the-road videos, but alas my camera battery packed-up and died – like, the camera is telling me to throw it away – before leaving Scotland; so, for a flavour of the scenery, go look at:

…so other people’s pictures can give you a flavour.

I am quite proud at having managed to be somewhat at one with the scenery without actually becoming part of it; damn, the 12GS is a great bike…

As for the rest of the day: one long meeting, free coffee and brownies from my colleague Pieter (conspicuously and successfully bribing the attendees with his largesse to guarantee their attention), and a long morning and afternoon of e-mail cleanup improved by the Mighty Mighty Bosstones on iPod, and a wind of change in the air…
