I feel that the defining attribute of Bluesky is the number of users who follow ~10 people, are followed by ~10 people, and yet who block 1000+ people; it’s not *bad* per-se…

…but it does give me the lingering sense that the platform is largely populated by people who feel the thing social networking most lacks is a sufficiently refined echo-chamber.

  1. @alecm I'm guessing those people just blindly applied some block lists made by others because people are told "Hey, you can block all the Nazis by using this list!” and then it blocks way too many people

    Only those who do not know what they talk about and the hateful people that ought to be blocked complain about echo chambers.

    1. There is a difference between complaining about them versus acknowledging that they exist.
