Regarding the attached:

  • If content produced by an LLM/AI cannot be copyrighted…
  • …then presumably it does not have a creator, instead having…
  • …someone who directed a machine to produce an item meeting particular specifications?
  • As such, what is meant to be the mechanism for outlawing its creation?
  • Do you ban [creation of] machines which can create such? Or do you ban directing them to create such?
  • How do you achieve either?

  1. Context / per my comments elsewhere, I am seeing people on Twitter and elsewhere arguing for an outright ban on creation rather than publication or distribution.

    And this is what interests me: can that demand actually be served?
