So I woke up this morning to my Mastodon client notifying me of a message from an obvious Fake Hot Girl

In my caffeine-deprived state, I missed the highlighted alerts that this was a cached, possibly-deleted message and so I drafted my usual sarcastic response to such things (above) and only when I attempted to reply did I get a “Cannot Reply To This Message” alert.
This piqued my curiosity, so I tried loading https://mastodon.social/@ellastuart in a browser, and the profile is locked-down – so it’s either some manner of private, or has been blocked in some way.
So I am wondering: is this a case of a scammer suddenly realising they are about to have a bad/wasted time, or is someone on this instance actually policing bad behaviour by accounts? This is perhaps the third instance I’ve had of this happening, but the first that I’ve bothered to dig into.
