Is Size Important?

One of the design decisions I made when my first website went up, one goal that I have maintained ever since, is to shoot for a “clean” style for ease of loading, rendering, and reading. By and large dropsafe is a single pull of HTML and should render fairly well, and fairly quickly, in most any browser – although I readily admit to abuse of <TABLES></TABLES> under the bonnet, which is probably suboptimal.

It just struck me to ask: does anyone apart from me actually appreciate this? It’s by no means the world’s prettiest blog, but then at least I try and make people laugh. Or think.

Sometimes I hope that I manage both.

Hmmm…. If you think mine is medium, but it actually takes longer to load than Doc’s, perhaps I’m including too much material on the front page. I know that some people only read me every couple of weeks (family, mostly), so I’d configured the front page to include everything from the last 21 days. I’ve just trimmed that to 14 days.

By the way, you need to preen dropsafe. Some of the sidebar links 404 (including “telsa”).
