I would be really interested to give one of these a go:
We first covered a diesel powered KLR back in May of last year, with a story about F1 Engineering’s military spec bike that was designed to win government, armed forces and law enforcement contracts. Now, it turns out that the bike recently set a speed record for commercially produced diesel motorcycles when it attained a speed of 85.46mph.Two different versions of the bike were brought to the Bonneville Salt Flats, one equipped with a small turbocharger. Both bikes set record speeds even though they only got 2 passes each. F1 is sure they can get into the mid 90 mph range, but they were unprepared and didn’t have extra sprockets to make crucial gearing changes. However, they will be back at Bonneville this September, so expect to see them shatter their own records.
